Great to know you're enjoying the switch from a chemical toilet – and that the extra height option is working well for you! Regarding the lid on the solids container: you're absolutely right in noticing that it’s not designed to stay firmly in place during regular use. The lid is intended primarily for covering the solids during transport (for example, when you're on your way to empty the container). During normal use, the container should remain open to allow the contents to dry out properly — otherwise, moisture can build up and cause unpleasant odors.
