Extremely disappointed — received a used or display unit sold as new

I ordered a Wilfa waffle maker as a gift, and was shocked to receive what was clearly a used or display unit. The item arrived dusty, scratched, with visible splatter marks on the cooking plates, and packaging that looked previously opened or poorly stored. It may have been opened on a warehouse shelf or returned by another customer — I cannot say for sure — but it was certainly not in new condition. The unit had signs of wear that no new product should have. Yes, customer service offered a replacement, but now I have to find time to repackage it, take it to a drop-off point, wait again, and deal with something that should never have happened in the first place. It was supposed to be a present — and instead, it’s a source of frustration. I'm left wondering how such an item was approved for shipment. I’m extremely disappointed and would expect far better quality control from a seller representing a premium brand.

I am very sorry that you are unhappy. I can see from your purchase details that you ordered the Wilfa Waffle Maker on 21st May and the item was delivered on 22nd May. You emailed us with the photo evidence on 22nd May at 13:37pm and my colleague from the support team responded to you on the same day 14:30pm with labels to collect the waffle maker and a replacement unit to be sent to you. Hence, I appreciate your frustration but we would have no reason to send you a used product, especially, as we only purchase brand new items from Wilfa. Nevertheless, my colleague in the support team has acted very promptly to resolve the issue. I believe we are still waiting for this waffle maker to be returned as the shipping labels have not been used yet.
