Lovely place for a relaxing break.
This villa is in a great spot just outside the village. Nice large swimming pool, really well appointed - the kitchen has just about every appliance/gadget you need ( I fell in love with the table mounted corkscrew, so much so, I ordered one off t’internet for use at home)!
There was just the two of us so only had access to the main part of the house so can’t comment on what it would be like for a large group but there’s plenty of seating and a large dining table.
There’s a tv which had UK tv channels and a dvd collection that would put Blockbusters to shame. Whilst we never watch television whilst on holiday, the Women’s Rugby World Cup was on and, as England fans who had been to a few of the stage matches, wanted to catch some games. Unfortunately, the reception was very sporadic - sometimes you got reception, sometimes nothing - which was very frustrating as the place is advertised as having UK TV. However, a few rainy evenings meant we made use of the dvd player.
The walk into the village is a doddle at around 5 mins and the hotel (closed Sun/Mon) has a very nice restaurant. We ate there a couple of times for the lunchtime Menu du Jour and twice on an evening. It was quiet on an evening but rammed on a lunchtime. Food was excellent on all occasions.
We only visited the bar once, but that was because the owner was on holiday the week we arrived but was pleasant enough on our visit (we even met the mayor there).
The bakery is great (aren’t they all in France) an extremely good butchers, a pharmacy, tabac and organic produce shop mean you don’t have to visit the supermarket once you’ve stocked up on the store cupboard essentials.
All in all, a really great place.
PS. Sorry about the awning, but I’m not taking the blame for that!
Neil, the house manager, is a lovely chap, very helpful & friendly.
