Review summary

Customers frequently praise the comfort of the car, highlighting its spaciousness, comfortable seating, and overall pleasant ride. The vehicle is also recognized for offering good value for money, particularly in terms of the features provided relative to its price. The driving experience is generally positive, with many enjoying the smooth handling and enjoyable journeys. Fuel economy is commonly mentioned as a strong point, and customers appreciate the range of features offered at this price point. Some customers also compliment the build quality, particularly the finish and reliability. However, there are several areas for improvement. Some customers report issues with cramped footwells or smaller seats. While technology features are appreciated by some, many express frustration with connectivity issues, missing features, and intrusive or poorly functioning safety technology. A few reviewers note that real-world fuel consumption does not always meet expectations. There are requests for additional features such as heated screens, better manuals, or specific tech upgrades. Opinions on build quality are mixed, with complaints about rattles, trim, and basic materials. Feedback on safety systems is often negative, with driver aids like lane assist and speed alerts described as overly intrusive or inaccurate, although a few customers do appreciate the presence of these features.

The speed assistance is not always right and keeps bleeping when I’m in-fact doing the right speed limit. This is not good as I am training to be at driving instructor and is very off putting for trainee drivers. Dacia tell me nothing can be done about it. One window wiper does not sit correctly again been told nothing can be done with it Had different Dacia’s for about 9 years don’t think I’ll get another one

Very impressive car, however a few minor omissions such as a rear courtesy light and a leaking roof from new (now resolved by the dealer…we hope!)

Comfortable and economical, but the gearbox is clunky and lacking refinement and there is an annoying vibration at certain speeds

Lovely to drive. Loads of tech at a great price. This is my second Stepway and my only concern is this time we do not get a manual. This makes it difficult to get to know your car you can get it online but it's too big to print and not as easy to read as a hard copy manual

Socket for phone input for apple car play in strange place. Cable interfering with steering, would be better that it’s with the charging port in he section below instead of ty the right of the screen

Everything you need but distracting safety aids

Everything you need in a small family car. I got the 110bhp version for a bit more ‘oomph’ which works well. You won’t be racing any F1 cars, but there’s enough to get past a slow vehicle when needed. It’s a comfy enough ride with usually Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Everything you need…except….. My only gripe is that in order to improve NCAP safety, Dacia have added lots of active safety driver aid, e.g., lane assist, speed awareness, etc. They meant well and on paper it’s great, but the reality is that they really don’t work well in reality. The lane assist is too aggressive and doesn’t allow for any kind of driver lateral movement before beeping at you. The speed alert beeps with literally 1 mph over limit. Every so often on a 40 road it beeps at you then badly distracts you saying ‘KEEP CONTROL’ when you’re basically just driving like a human and not like a robot. You can configure these and activate ‘Personalised safety mode’ (you have to activate every time you start car) which you can actually drive it without being beeped to hell, but Dacia should really improve the software and configure with real driving conditions as it does more distraction than safety in default mode.

Negativity is no jack or wheel brace in new cars only found out when we had a puncture. Positives it’s the fifth sandero we have bought from new ( but the first puncture we have had luckily)

My dacia experience

I have been very lucky I see Derek Kent each time I change my car and this one is my 6th I find it very easy to drive comfortable to sit in and because of my bad hip it's at right height for me to get in and out of without causing problems to my hip I like the way Derek gives me all the facts and gives me time to think it over and the cars have all been presented in top condition I'm very happy with the service I've had since my first dacia in 2011

Colour grey

Colour, 6 speed gearbox automatic lights, roof rack. Electric brake takes some time to get used to, key fob often doesn't work, but it seems too close to mobile phone, and for all the digital and electric additions, there is still a wee plastic lever to open the petrol filler

Excellent value

It has a lot of great features and things just work. In terms of value for money, it's an excellent car. The drive is pleasant both in the city and on the motorway, and it's good for carrying passengers.
