Review summary

Many customers praise the car for its affordability and economical running costs, making it an appealing entry point into electric vehicles. The car is frequently described as fun, easy to drive, and well-suited for city or short journeys, with smooth performance that appeals to urban drivers. Comfort is generally appreciated for city use, and the boot size is often highlighted as a positive feature. Some reviewers also note helpful staff in their customer service experiences. However, several users express disappointment with the battery range, particularly in cold weather, as well as the vehicle feeling light or 'tinny.' Issues with seating, space, and ride quality are reported on longer journeys or by taller individuals. The boot is sometimes difficult to open and lacks features like a fifth seat belt or a boot light. Persistent software, infotainment, and app glitches are a common source of frustration, including radio failures and buggy screens. Customer service and aftersales experiences are mixed, with some customers facing poor communication, delays, or unfulfilled promises.

I had a problem with my radio in the Dacia Spring which had stopped playing. Booked in for a service to sort out the problem. Just before the car was to go in, the radio resumed playing. I spoke to Vicky Oakes in the service department to say should I cancel but she said there must be an underlying problem and to bring the car in. The radio required an soft wear update and has been playing ever since. Thanks Vicky.

For a small little town runner it does perfectly for me. The regenerative break-in feature is brilliant for local and the standard drive feature is brilliant for motorways. At 70 mph on the motorway you can expect your range to be no more than 70 to 80 mi. But at 56 mph you can expect about $120. If you do what I do, I'll lower it down to 45 or 50 when there's no traffic you can honestly expect To reach the advertise range (if not, running accessories). My honest guess is that the air conditioning or heating will affect the range by about 10 mi, I'm just travelling at night icing. The headlights take off are possible 5 mi (accessory use figures are just my own opinion). I am 6'1 tall and I do struggle with the low roof for my size. When stopped right at the stop line for traffic lights, I have to crane quite a lot forward until my head sideways to be able to look up at the traffic lights. The sun visor is of zero used to me unless I wish to drive like Stevie Wonder. I find the driving position very close to the driver's door, so much so that it's hard to relax, but I figured this before I bought it being as it is only a small car. It is feature rich and all controls are very easily accessible. You can fully control this car without having to touch the screen at all, although the screen does have a lot of useful functions, it's main purpose is entertainment. Android auto compliant and works very well. The dachsha app works very well for monitoring, charging and battery state and also to activate air conditioning or to flash the lights and beep the horn three times when necessary. All in all this is a wonderful little car but is not going to be useful. If you are a giant who wants to do many, many miles. I will finish on the most important part which is charging. From 10% to 100% on a fast charger will take around 60 mins. 20% to 80% takes around 22 minutes.

Fun to Drive

My Spring has most of the extras and I find it fun to drive. It has all the tech I could possibly need, including an APP. A 100% battery charge gives an indicated 131 miles range, which would probably stretch to over 140 with regenerative braking. I rarely drive in ECO mode. I would like the gear lever/switch to work in the opposite direction, push forward to go forward. Having a proper handbrake is a bonus but using an ignition key to start 'the motor' feels a bit weird, but I easily got used to it.

Very helpful sales. Felt valued. Great price. The car is ideal for me 72 years bought the automatic electric. And it has been fantastic. First time for both electric and automatic would highly recommend. Would have liked a manual, not just on the internet.the blind spot is much larger than I was used to. So need to take care until used to it.. All in all very happy.

Great little car. Too small maybe for some but perfect for a family of two plus dog. Very maneuverable and surprisingly quick of the mark. Fantastic car for town and city. Needs a recharge in tje middle of a long journey but for those who dom't often go far its perfect. Very economical to run and quiye comfortable to drive.

Economical

The Dacia is a fab little car, so economical to run if just pootling about locally. My work is 10 miles round trip, 6 days a week, and I only have to charge once a week. Downside is the Infotainment system. Have to reset weekly at least as the radio will just stop working, clearly shows the station playing and the volume is high, but nothing comes out. It randomly changes radio station also.

The computerised functions seem to have a life of their own and are not, so far as I am concerned, easily controllable - eg why when I take the car out of the garage and my I/phone is connected when having closed the door and get back in the phone is disconnected and does not come back on automatically? Similarly, when I take the car out of the garage the map of the area comes on. Then, having driven for about 10 minutes sometimes -not always- a message comes up telling me to take a break. Annoying matters which the incredibly complicated handbook does nothing to help. Nevertheless, I really like the vehicle and its obvious economy over a petrol car.

No problems with my Spring at the moment. Great car. All my driving is local so the range when fully charged can be as low as 110 miles. I would have liked this explained to me when I bought the car as I expected 140 miles range

A fun little electric car

You get what you pay for, a fun little electric car which is perfect for local journeys. Positives: fast charge is a must, enjoyably fast acceleration, very comfortable for a small car. Negatives: boot doesn't shut without a slam, the media screen sometimes takes a minute to wake up. I would recommend the Spring to anyone with the proviso that person knows what they want. It isnt a luxurious long range car and is never going to be....

Very comfortable and easy to drive. Plenty of room for a small car. People comment how good it looks. It doesn't seem to charge to the full amount, and some of the controls seem to be a bit complicated. The younger generation find it no problem, but the Seniors like myself, who are more likely to use this car, sometimes find it awkward. However, I still like the car as it suits my needs admirably.

Great little nippy car around the city. It has just the right number of features to make the car easy to live with but not wasting money on items that hardly ever get used. The heater could do with being hotter and adding software for the lower spec cars to use vehicle to load would be a great addition.

Vehicle sold to myself by Glen at Ipswich was exactly what I wanted. He was honest with his delivery of the whole experience with no false promises. Where I believed the handover for me could have been longer Glen had taken onboard my opinion obtaining a paper copy of the vehicle handbook for my reference. Generally a good vehicle for myself with the support of Dacia Ipswich.

For a budget vehicle the Expression 65 is pretty much perfect, except in the screen defrosting and demisting department. A heated front windscreen would be really beneficial, the system as it is defrosts the passenger side much quicker than the more important drivers right hand side, presumably because of the European origins of this model?

Dacia spring offers good value for money. We enjoy driving it. It is small and a bit tinny. Minor problems with the audio system needing regular resetting. And occasionally the B drive setting doesn’t engage.

Various bugs in the software are annoyances in daily use and should have been ironed out earlier. The suspension suffers badly over speed humps and appears to be short of travel. The tyre and wind noise is excessive and I am sure that just a few pounds more spent in sound proofing would be well worth it. The rear seat lifting out of its socket when folding does not appear to be mentioned in the manual and often reported as a fault but it appears to be deliberate to allow the seat to be removed all together.

PROVIDE A PRINTED MANUSL

Love it but you really should provide a printed manual with the car not just an on-line version which is too large to print out.

Cool run-about

I really like the exterior design, very neat and chunky and cool. It's fun and easy to drive, very responsive and cheap to run. Comfortable seats, good sized boot. Nice to have would be push button start, keyless entry and the ability to open the charging port remotely, but I guess these would push up the price. All in all, very pleased with it.
