Review summary

Customers overwhelmingly report that the device effectively prevents cats from bringing prey into the house, and most users find installation to be straightforward and quick. Many appreciate the app's notifications and the AI's learning ability, with several noting that the device is worth its price due to its effectiveness. Some users experience issues with fitting or mounting the device, and there are occasional complaints about adhesive pads, mounting, or power supply. The app receives criticism for glitches, false positives or negatives, as well as wishes for a desktop version and better camera clarity. Customer support receives mixed reviews, with some finding it helpful while others are frustrated by slow or absent responses. Works well, power is sometimes troublesome

The device itself is very small and installs without any problems in my SurePet Pet Door Connect. The setup is simple and the device immediately starts working. If you take the time to look at the events the device displays in its companion smartphone app and correct it when it made the wrong decision/determination, the device will get (even) better over time. The only problem I had/have with the device is that it uses so little power that it is hard to find a power supply that will power it properly. I tried a reputable Anker power bank with explicitly stated support for trickle charging devices over both A and C USB ports, and it works most of the time, but it still stops powering the Zero Mouse device sometimes. Because my pet door is in an actual door, it is not so simple to power the device from a regular USB charger because obviously the door opens and closes.

In a word...Brilliant!!

In a word...Brilliant!! We were having, on several occasions 3-5 mice or shrews (dead or alive) a night brought in by our beloved(?) sweet looking, small tabby cat that looked so innocent at the cat rescue place... Little did we know she was really a fully trained & expert multiple killer... After a few weeks, she seems to have realised that she can't get in with prey, she tries, but drops them quickly especially if it's raining! Expensive yes... but no more mice/shrews running amok at 3am & no clearing up the remains in the morning!!! Simple to install & very helpful staff if you have issues & open to suggestions in feedback... We were unsure before we bought but the 60-day money-back guarantee was a sign of confidence & reassurance... Well done 'Zero Mouse' and thank you

We can relax now!

This is an excellent gadget. Our cat had started bringing us prey (including rats) - and they were sometimes still alive. We tried locking him in overnight but as he'd always previously been allowed, he would wake us up in distress every night. With Zero Mouse, you can see every time your pet comes in (wherever you are, which is another bonus) and it stops them bringing in any prey, dead or alive. It takes a while to fully calibrate (you agree or disagree on the decision of the AI camera) but it has been correct every time from Day One when he's tried to bring in prey. 3 weeks in and he's pretty much stopped trying to do it and we are all much happier.

Easy to Install and use, delivery times need to be realistic

Easy to install, although would have been great if you included a long USB-C charging cable. What let me down was the high price for the product, and the lack of clarity on delivery. When I ordered the device, delivery was stated at 3 days, but it took nearly a month to be delivered. There was no mention of customs challenges and no updates provided. I had to reach out to support and they were equally vague. This should be improved.

Best device ever, 15 days and 9 preys blocked already. It was a bit tricky to set at the beginning because of medium WiFi signal, but moving the router closer to the cat flap helped and now we’re very happy with it. Also, you may notice it’s a bit slow at first but once it learns from your feedback it gets quicker at allowing them to enter. Side note, the pictures it takes are quite entertaining as well :D

Very Effective

I’d be ejecting terrified live mice pretty much every couple of days from the house with the 2 cats. Installed this, not had 1 live mouse since (over a month). I’ve had 2 small dead ones the cats have managed to smuggle in but that’s it. the cats actually learn pretty quickly not to bother trying. Definitely worth it to reclaim my sleep and the smell of dead mice when they die somewhere quiet. It has sporadically affected the ID of the cats arriving and leaving on the app, I haven’t found a way to fix that yet but it must be a set up issue.

Life changing

I was a bit sceptical about how successful this product would be. I read all the reviews out there and it seemed some people were having issues. Our cats are absolute killers. We get mice, rats, birds, frogs, bats and snakes. Our walls, doors and skirting boards are often covered in blood and entrails. We had to do something. Out of the box, it was pretty easy to install. We have good WiFi as well. The results are incredible. In 6 weeks this device has stopped over 75 attempts to bring prey into the house. Not 1 has made it in. We have religiously reviewed each entry to train the AI. The cats are still trying to bring in prey, but less often. This device has completely changed our lives. No more trying to catch live animals in our bedroom in the small hours, and no more cleaning blood off the walls. If you’re struggling like we were, it’s worth every single penny.

It has stopped 6-7 attempts to bring mice in within the first month and hasn’t let any attempts through which to me is well worth the money. Finding an elegant way to connect it up was a bit tricky and even with trunking the back door looks messy. Better if it ran off a rechargeable power pack. Also, the sticky pad holding it on the cat flap failed already so now it’s flapping about and I need to find something to restick it with.

Works a treat.

In have had my ZeroMOUSE since the beginning of April and am thrilled not to have had any unwanted gifts brought into me by my cat Willow. The order came very promptly. It was very easy to install and worked immediately with no trouble. I was a bit sceptical when I saw Willow approach with a mouse in her mouth but no it worked perfectly. I would have given five stars except for the fact that I have found quite a few of the photos have had to be classified as wrong as they don’t show her mouth at all. I suppose as I haven’t found any evidence of prey in the house (hopefully none are hiding somewhere!) this should be sufficient but it would be nice to get a clear picture. I would like to thank you for a less stressful life particularly at this time of year and no more chasing round the room catching mice.

Life changer! My cat is a very prolific hunter and managed to bring a record of 3 mice in a single night! Since we installed ZeroMOUSE every single attempt has been blocked! I have a Ferplast flap, not even in the list of compatible devices, but it works perfectly nevertheless! I could not recommend this device more, worth every cent!

66% successful

Since we have had this it has stopped two mice but let one in, although we don't know if the cat no longer tries. It never recognises the cat's tummy which it should and it also gives false positives when we have washing on the drier outside the backdoor. Finally you only get the app when a desktop version would be useful too. Pretty good, but still room for improvement.

Easy to install and it works!

Installed on a Petsafe cat flap in about 15 minutes. I like that it installs on an existing cat flap because there is no need to cut or modify anything, and of course makes it much cheaper than the alternatives that replace the complete door. You need to supply your own usb cable, but they are cheap and at least you can buy the length you need. The app is very clear easy to use and connected to the device right away. It slightly alters the timing of the door, but our Poppy had no problems getting used to it. Installed about 3 weeks ago, then just yesterday we had our first incident. She tried about 5 times to enter with a poor little mouse in her mouth, but it was successfully blocked each time and eventually she gave up and came in without it. So I can say for sure it works!

No more mice!

Our cat was bringing tiny mice into the house almost daily; sometimes dead, sometimes alive & hopping around the kitchen… Since the Zero Mouse has been fitted (touch wood) no mice at all! Plus, we also see our neighbour’s cat’s mugshot when he tries to follow my cat in. Added benefit that it also picks up people standing close to the door.

Absolutely Amazing 1000% recommend!

Absolutely Amazing! I wish I had bought this sooner. We have two tabbies who are prolific mousers, three a day levels of chaos. I would spend hours trying to catch the ones they brought in kicking and very unpleasant time cleaning up the ones who weren’t. We would end up with mouse 1&2’s all over until we could catch them in the morning and it was so unhygienic. It was so easy to install in our SurePet Microchip Cat Flap and since then we haven’t had a single mouse inside! Not one! It has been relaxed and cleanly bliss. They got used to it incredibly quickly and it’s paid for itself over and over. It even captured a curious fox, we had no idea he was getting so close to the flap. Since we installed it 3 weeks ago it’s stopped 23 potentially mouse incidents with 100% success rate. If you have a cat who likes to bring you gifts, and an existing cat flap, this is the product for you, it’s worth every penny.

Love the product and what it achieves. Difficult in first instance setting up wifi, instructions were not clear. Finally made the link by removing zero mouse from the catflap, linking to wifi whilst ZM in kitchen closer to wifi booster then had to reinstall to catflap. Got there in the end and so far in the space of about 10 days have stopped 4 mice coming in. Brilliant! We’re pleased, cat’s a bit grumpy.

4 weeks since we have installed Zero Mouse and I am happy to say no mouse have end up inside our house which is fantastic! Our evening's are more relaxing since I don't have jump and run to check if our cat brought another unwonted present. Expensive product but well worth .

Does exactly as promised - no mice!

We're really happy with the Zero Mouse - after three weeks of chasing rodents and occasionally birds out of the house it has all stopped! Does exactly as promised. Our cats wear GPS trackers and it occasionally mistakes these for prey, especially for our calico cat who also has a black patch just under her mouth.

So far it has worked perfectly. Our can is a successful hunter and used to bring her prey inside, leaving a mess in the house. Since we got the ZeroMouse detector we have had no prey inside the house.

Very impressed.

Delivery was much slower than expected, but I can't fault the device. We've got poor WiFi but it's still worked perfectly and prevented the cats from bringing several animals in. Very impressive.

works well.. a product at this price point should certainly come with a power adapter though as well as a few more mounting options. In the case of our install the zero mouse did not fit due to a small lip in the cat tunnel so I had to buy a thicker adhesive pad to make it fit, a few different adhesive pads of different thickness would be a useful addition.
