I spent hundreds of pounds on a bottle of wine which never arrived. It was delivered through Royal Mail/Parcelforce. The proof of delivery appears to have been taken in a wine shop, not my property.

Wine was not drinkable.
Answer by vintagewineandport.co.uk
Dear Mark, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that the 1975 Barolo, Cantine Prandi (Library Release) wasn’t to your taste. Bottles of this age naturally develop mature, tertiary notes—dried fruit, spice, and gentle oxidative characteristics—which are typical for a 1975 Barolo and not a fault in the wine. For mature wines like this, we generally recommend allowing bottles to stand upright for 24–48 hours after delivery before opening, to let any sediment settle and ensure the wine shows at its best. Our customer care team have replied to you email to further discuss your experience and are happy to assist as part of our commitment to excellent service. Kind regards, Vintage Wine and Port
