I love my beanbag but was very disappointed at needing to fill it myself from the bag of beans. I expected to open the box and have something I could sit on straight away. I was also disappointed at the assumption that I live with someone, or have someone I can ask to help me with the task, as the instructions advise against tackling the task alone. When friends come to visit I don't ask them to work. It's a good thing this is a type of seat, because after several hours spent filling it, I really needed to sit down! You gave some reasons why it's done this way, but I would rather have paid extra and had it pre-filled. You could offer this as an option.

Upon delivery, the box was left outside our 2nd floor flat. With a trail of polystyrene balls all the way through our block. The fact that this is self assembly is hidden in the features section of the product and I feel this should be highlighted more clearly on the page. The bag for our polystyrene balls was broken upon arrival and once we had put all the balls inside the beanbag, I don’t feel there is enough to fill it. So I don’t know how many had fallen out in transit, but I could count more than 100 on the trail up to our flat. I feel mislead when purchasing this. It’s a messy job and not clearly stated that it self assembly. I really hope our niece likes this and it’s worth the aggravation of putting together and apologising to our neighbours for the mess caused by its delivery. I would love to know how that bag of beans is supposed to fill the entire bean bag. It’s saggy. See pics.

I bought the high-back gaming-style beanbag when I was awaiting my sofa delivery. Not only did it not state online that you have to put the beanbag together yourself, they don't send anywhere near enough beans. The result is, despite a beautiful design, the high back won't stay in place, so it looks limp and terrible, and the seat isn't comfortable. I chose to sit on the floor rather than on this. Really disappointed, and stuck with a beanbag I have no use for.

Are you joking?

Bought on sale at 269.00 had I of paid 500 I would’ve committed suicide. No mention on website that you have to build it yourself, and the process for filling it with polystyrene beans requires the patience of Mother Theresa and the interlect of a noble peace price winner. I am left with the remnants of a “sofa” which looks like more like the aftermath of the hindenburg disaster. DO NOT PURCHASE

DIY beanbag

Crazy that you have to stuff the beanbag yourself and make a huge mess in the process of doing so. Looking forward to when Bigbertha start selling cars and we need to install the engine from scratch, or their electronics range where we'll need to solder the motherboards ourselves.

Poor quality for the price

The quality isn’t the same as what it looked like on the website, not comfortable and definitely not worth the amount they charge. Also having to fill it yourself is extremely annoying.

Absolutely awful service it’s unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. Christmas gift ordered and never arrived - emailed with no responses and the phone lines are never ever answered and you get cut off which makes me think they are not manned. Then I got offered for the item to be sent again next day delivery when I eventually did get an email response and then they never happened - I had to email again and then got told I’m not reading the emails properly even though that’s what they said!!! No sorry once for the awful service!!! Never ordering anything from them again!!

I bought a sofa and is very uncomfortable for my needs .I emailed back and forth to send it back and get the refund . The reply I got was" you can return it but you have to get rid of the filling and send the covers only ". All I wanted was to send them back filled in . I even offered to take them myself in my car to a place where decided by the company !! I am very disappointed with the reply . Didn't expect it .From my point of view I wasted my money. I was expecting more understanding from Bertha.

I bought toddler armchair with beans filling, the seat looses it shape as amount of the beans isn't enough, doesn't look like an armchair at all, hard to fill with beans without mess, today had a first attempt to get a beans out and wash it as my daughter vomited on it, only god knows how many time I was upset with it, what a terrible buy

We are sorry to hear this. We checked and your order is from September 2021. This is a soft furniture therefore the filling will, as with every bean bag, lose its volume. Maybe you need to get a top up to make it look good again. Hope your daughter is feeling better.

This sofa was awful - I expected it to come ready - did not expect to install contents - very difficult - would not recommend this item - I threw it away - a complete waste of £250 - please do not purchase this complicated item - paper clips were attached to zip for closing!! Do I need to say anymore!

I should be paid labour and inconvenience costs by the supplier.

I ordered a bean bag. Little did I know on placing the order that I would be required to "make" the bean bag by filling the bag with millions of styrofoam balls (the eponymous beans) most of which ended up on the kitchen floor. Never again. In future I suggest you stuff your beanbag.

Answer the phone when someone would like to speak to someone, clear instructions on how to return an item as not everything knows how evri works and good customer service as I have received extremely poor customer. Do not recommend this company to anyone.

Colour was not the same. Paid more for a brown toddler chair. Was grey rather than brown, on checking wed received the right one, was advised this batch was slightly grey, so if I wanted to keep it would offer 20% discount. This made the price the same as the grey option they sell.

Steer clear!!

The website deliberately does not inform the purchaser that they have to fill the sofa themselves with thousands of beads, a process which takes hours. The company ought to be taken to the regulator for their omitting to make clear this crucial information.

I have been in touch to send my 2 items back and have received no response. The inner lining of the foot stool only allows so much filling leaving the foot stool shapeless. The big bean bag does not hold it's shape either.

No one answers the phone when you call. Don’t reply to emails, then say they have and they will resend. Bags don’t come full of beans you have to fill yourself. Overall quality is not worth the price.
