We needed a new office chair, TRHayes were the only shop locally that has a good selection, set up in a designated area, with plenty of choice, at various prices. Alan D, the salesman, gave us all the information and help that we needed. He made the purchase experience enjoyable! He arranged the delivery, which for our area was free of charge - a bonus. The store contacted us the day before delivery, giving us the 2 hour time slot for delivery. This was very helpful. Delivery was done the next day by Nate and Max. They assembled the chair, and put it in the study & explained how to work it. They were proficient, courteous and disposed of all packing materials. 10/10 The downside - we noticed that on one side of the chair back the stitching had caused some puckering of the leather. Overnight, in a warm room, there was no change. I photographed the chair, and went into the store. I explained to another salesman the issue, showed him the photo. He said it would be possible to exchange the chair & he would discuss it with Alan when he was back the following day. This was all arranged, and we were given a date & time slot for delivery. Steve, the delivery driver, came today. He had brought 2 identical chairs, so we could choose which one we wanted. He assembled the chair for us & explained how it worked & did a demonstration. He was extremely helpful and took the original purchase back to the store, together with all the packaging. A very good service from Hayes. We have used them before and had good service & will do so again. Although there was a bit of a problem with the chair, it was quickly rectified with no quibble. Well done to all. Thank you.

On 30 September 2021 I ordered a sofa bed. It finally arrived on 5 April 2022 and was the wrong size. I couldn’t believe that TR Hayes didn’t check that the item was correct when it arrived into your warehouse. It was therefore delivered and I immediately spotted it was too small, too small in fact by two sizes. I am sick and tired of hearing about European problems etc, etc, I appreciate there have been worldwide issues, but a lack of communication is not acceptable on the part of TR Hayes. I do not feel like a valued customer at all. I have had zero communication from TR Hayes. I have called several times to ask when my correct sofa bed is to be delivered and I’m told middle of June, which we’re now at. I bought another sofa the other week at your pop up store in the Southgate shopping area and enquired then if there was any news about the sofa. I have paid £1,329 for this sofa bed and I’m massively unimpressed by your total lack of customer service. It really isn’t up to me as the client to be ringing the store to be asking for an update on my order. I have heard nothing at any point from Bruce the sales man. He’s obviously thrilled he got his commission and doesn’t give a damn. I’ve bought quite a bit of stuff from TR Hayes and this really isn’t good enough. I have been the person doing all the chasing. I’ve been ringing and emailing TR Hayes. In fact I emailed a complaint yesterday and asked for the name of the Managing Director. Heard nothing back from them at all.

Unfortunately our bed delivery went wrong due to a combination of road closures and the use of a lorry too big for our lane. This was particularly annoying as I had rung the shop the day before to remind them that the lane was narrow and they should use a small lorry. However the driver (Steve B), who was extremely apologetic, turned the situation around by arriving with the bed first thing next morning and, with Sam R, doing a great job installing it. We have used Hayes a few times before and this is the first time we've had a problem but it does show there is a need for the despatch organisation to be aware of vehicle size and road constraints.

Our Stressless sofa (no pun intended here) was disassembled at our old house one day, and then reassembled at our new house a few days later. I had expected that someone would come to do this who actually knew how the sofa fitted together, but actually they didn't, and didn't even seem to know what they had come to our house to do that day, so I don't know if there is a breakdown in communications somewhere in TR Hayes' system. It would have also seemed a good idea to send the same team to do both ends of this job, but we had different guys each time. Some disconnection here on who is doing what and who the best person for the job is I think - even these small jobs matter when they are customer facing and leave an impression with the customer, who might have been a repeat customer, but of course this sort of experience can put them off. To be very honest, we had expected something a little more professional from a name like TR Hayes.

Phil was particularly helpful in the shop when we were selecting our furniture. The furniture was delivered ahead of expected time and the delivery team, Steve and Max were friendly, polite and helpful as the scatter cushions had not been loaded at the warehouse. However, a quick phone call by Steve and the cushions were subsequently delivered by a member of the shop staff. All in all, very pleased with our furniture and the Hayes team.

Mark O was exceptionally helpful when I ordered the footstool over the phone- he remembered I had ordered a matching chair previously and was able to find relevant paperwork. The footstool is just what I wanted and matches the chair exactly. My only criticism of the whole experience is the delivery- I was contacted the day before delivery to be given a two hour slot- the stool was delivered an hour and a half before this time slot! Fortunately my husband was in to accept delivery. There is not a lot of point giving a two hour window when delivery could happen at any time!!

This is the third time we have bought furniture from T R Hayes. It is a lovely store with excellent old fashioned service and good quality furniture at a reasonable price. We were having builders in to update our hall and living room and wanted new furniture to fit in with that update. We chose six pieces from the Cordoba Oak range and we are not disappointed, they and nice and solid and good looking. The reason I have given 4 stars rather than the 5 stars in my previous reviews is because of the quite substantial delay in delivery date. The approximate delivery time was 8-10 weeks when I ordered, the furniture. In October I was phoned to say that it would be a further month which was fine as that still fitted in with the builders but then in November we were advised of a more substantial delay of February and by now we had already got rid of some of our other furniture, However I can't praise Amber highly enough for getting us all of the furniture apart from one piece, before Christmas. She kept in contact with me by email during this time. Actual delivery was good and thanks in particular to Sam and Max for their especial care with our furniture and for spotting a problem with a drawer and notifying the store who are organising a replacement.

Saw a nice sofa in the sale - just what we wanted - Julia handled our order with friendly efficiency and we agreed a date for delivery.As promised a phone call confirmed the date and time.The delivery guys -Sam & Steve did a great job as the sofa was difficult to get into our house - but they managed it and left everything in good order

Great purchase process: parking at the shop in the centre of Bath, well stocked showroom and we easily found what we wanted at the right price. Delivery was very smooth: the team arrived on time, brought the sofas in, fixed the feet and took away all the packing rubbish. In between, we were disappointed by delays in delivery, with not enough warning to adjust our plans. But overall a good place to shop.

Your delivery drivers Frank and Stu were so helpful when it was found the sofa would not come through the door and they were able take pieces off and fold others to get it through the door. As for doing things better when we ordered in June the web site quoted 12 weeks but when we visited the store we we told that it would be up to 20 weeks. Not knowing exactly how long it would be we got rid of our old suite so until you gave us a sofa we were on garden chairs. So a realistic delivery date would have been better in our case i think it was 22 weeks. Without this problem it would be 5 stars as the suite is all we hoped.

The sales advisors in store were really helpful and struck the right balance of coming to help, but then leaving us to try the different products to decide what was best for us. Mattress wasn’t ready as quickly as advertised (took just over 2 months) and when I called for an update was originally told one day, then called again to arrange a time and was told it wouldn’t be ready until the week after. Received a call the same day from another member of staff to arrange delivery for the following day. That could have been an inconvenience if I’d cancelled arrangements to be in the house for the delivery but luckily I was home that day anyway. Delivery people (Kris and Jesse) were really friendly and it only took a few mins for them to bring the mattress in and take the old one away. Paid a bit extra to have the old mattress taken away, really convenient and painless.

Delivery time was estimated at 12 weeks, but it took 5 weeks longer. That was understandable in the current circumstances. I asked for an update and then had to telephone again to chase. It would have been appreciated if we could have been informed about the delay without having to do this. This is why customer service stars are 3 and not 5! Alan in sales and Steve on delivery were excellent.
