I love my beanbag but was very disappointed at needing to fill it myself from the bag of beans. I expected to open the box and have something I could sit on straight away. I was also disappointed at the assumption that I live with someone, or have someone I can ask to help me with the task, as the instructions advise against tackling the task alone. When friends come to visit I don't ask them to work. It's a good thing this is a type of seat, because after several hours spent filling it, I really needed to sit down! You gave some reasons why it's done this way, but I would rather have paid extra and had it pre-filled. You could offer this as an option.

Upon delivery, the box was left outside our 2nd floor flat. With a trail of polystyrene balls all the way through our block. The fact that this is self assembly is hidden in the features section of the product and I feel this should be highlighted more clearly on the page. The bag for our polystyrene balls was broken upon arrival and once we had put all the balls inside the beanbag, I don’t feel there is enough to fill it. So I don’t know how many had fallen out in transit, but I could count more than 100 on the trail up to our flat. I feel mislead when purchasing this. It’s a messy job and not clearly stated that it self assembly. I really hope our niece likes this and it’s worth the aggravation of putting together and apologising to our neighbours for the mess caused by its delivery. I would love to know how that bag of beans is supposed to fill the entire bean bag. It’s saggy. See pics.

The beans are not inside the beanbag when it arrives (I should read the details more carefully, because if that information is upfront, I would not have ordered). The beans come in a large plastic bag, in a large square box, and the technique for getting the beans into the small opening on the cover is one that is a mystery to me. Three of us were making some progress when the plastic bag split. 3 hours later, I managed to have both a useable beanbag and a cleared kitchen floor. Seriously. It is impossible, even without rubbish flimsy packaging that breaks midway through...

An Unpleasant DIY Project with Bad Results

We might have overlooked the fine print on this bean bag, but it's got several major downsides that took us by surprise. First off, you're basically handed a DIY project when you open the box - one bag with the seat material and another filled with beans. I was honestly floored by how hands-off this product arrived. I hope this company don't sell duvets or pillows, or you'll have to stuff it with the feathers yourself! Now, let me tell you about the ordeal of getting those pesky beans into the bag. It's like trying to herd a bunch of cats! The instructions make it seem like a breeze, but trust me, it's far from it. The bean bag's filling bag has this ginormous opening, and there's no way to funnel those little polystyrene beans in properly, so they just scatter everywhere. It took my wife and me hours to round them all up, not to mention the fact that they're toxic if consumed, so you have to find all the strays of which there were many. Despite our best vacuuming efforts, our son managed to find one stray and of course, tried to eat it, fortunately we got it out of his mouth before anything bad happened. After what felt like an eternity, we finally filled up the bag and zipped it shut, squeezing out as much air as humanly possible (as per the instructions). But here's the kicker - it ended up looking more like a lumpy mound than a comfy seat. Our son, eager to give it a try, hopped on and promptly rolled right off. We tried every trick we could to mold it into a proper seat, but it was obviously overfilled. There were no instructions on how much to add or remove, that we could see. Now, we're faced with the task of unzipping it and taking out some beans in the hope we can salvage it as a usable seat for our little one. Honestly, this whole experience has been a bit of a nightmare. We're seriously contemplating returning it, and maybe we should.

FAKE SALES.

WARNING FAKE SALES. Bigberthaoriginal Puts on a sale for Black Friday but the price was exactly the same as the rest of the year with a fake slashed price. Along with a Timer to pressure you to rush buy. Follows on with Christmas sale immediately with another timer, once again, same price as rest of the year with a FAKE slashed price. This company has never retailed the product at the slashed price. I have been observing the product for over two years on their website. Won’t be surprised if this continues into the new year ‘sales’. Don’t buy from these people it’s a scam, they’re committing retail fraud, tricking consumers which is incredibly dishonest and poor. Reportable behaviour. Don’t support ‘big Bertha original’s fake sale tactics. Support lounge pug by buying from Amazon.

Unfortunately, there are many factors that go into the price of an item, from the cost of taxes, cost of distribution, shipping, advertising and more and not all the items can be on sale.

Everything you do is very misleading. 1, I expected the bean bag to be ready assembled, not something that had to be assembled by the buyer. (I found the reference that it had to be assembled as one of the last guidance points) 2, the packaging looked as though it had previously been opened, then resealed with sellotape. 3, the interior packaging had been broken in several places. 4. Assembly was explained via a link. 5. You could not be contacted by telephone. After saying how busy you were, it cut off. 6. Email contact was electronic, until I contacted Paypal. I then received emails from the company 7. The return instructions were complicated 7.The issue was only resolved for me by Paypal, with no further correspondence from BigBertha

I bought the high-back gaming-style beanbag when I was awaiting my sofa delivery. Not only did it not state online that you have to put the beanbag together yourself, they don't send anywhere near enough beans. The result is, despite a beautiful design, the high back won't stay in place, so it looks limp and terrible, and the seat isn't comfortable. I chose to sit on the floor rather than on this. Really disappointed, and stuck with a beanbag I have no use for.

Are you joking?

Bought on sale at 269.00 had I of paid 500 I would’ve committed suicide. No mention on website that you have to build it yourself, and the process for filling it with polystyrene beans requires the patience of Mother Theresa and the interlect of a noble peace price winner. I am left with the remnants of a “sofa” which looks like more like the aftermath of the hindenburg disaster. DO NOT PURCHASE

DIY beanbag

Crazy that you have to stuff the beanbag yourself and make a huge mess in the process of doing so. Looking forward to when Bigbertha start selling cars and we need to install the engine from scratch, or their electronics range where we'll need to solder the motherboards ourselves.

Poor quality for the price

The quality isn’t the same as what it looked like on the website, not comfortable and definitely not worth the amount they charge. Also having to fill it yourself is extremely annoying.

Absolutely awful service it’s unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. Christmas gift ordered and never arrived - emailed with no responses and the phone lines are never ever answered and you get cut off which makes me think they are not manned. Then I got offered for the item to be sent again next day delivery when I eventually did get an email response and then they never happened - I had to email again and then got told I’m not reading the emails properly even though that’s what they said!!! No sorry once for the awful service!!! Never ordering anything from them again!!

Bought the 2 seater sofa, arrived with two massive boxes and had to get all the filling inside the cover myself - which went everywhere. For some reason I thought spending £220 I would have it delivered in one piece ready to go. I bought the bright pink which wasn’t a very nice pink in the flesh, more red /orange. I decided I wanted to send it back as I wasn’t happy and it wasn’t comfortable at all, felt too stiff, you couldn’t relax on it and felt like you were going to slip onto the floor as it’s not that deep and the back is really stiff and full. Contacted cust services who said to return I would need to get all the filling out again and put back in the bags. Also to return they arrange dpd to come and collect but at the cost of £18 which came out of my refund. Obviously was a nightmare trying to get all of the filling out again and back into the bags. Wish I hadn’t bothered it was just a massive headache that costed me £18.

Underwhelming for its price

The cover is beautiful, lovely colour and texture. However, the filling was not enough so the bean bag is very squishy and the size is - in effect - nothing like the dimensions stated. This cannot be considered a large footstool. The filling was also very very messy and there was a note that it is toxic to animals which is worrying. Also, the one size is not faux leather, so you can't have it standing on it's side (I wanted it to so it could have the 40cm height). Overall I was disappointed and definitely do not think it was worth the £80 paid. I will look for alternative filling elsewhere in hopes I can use this as planned.
