I love my beanbag but was very disappointed at needing to fill it myself from the bag of beans. I expected to open the box and have something I could sit on straight away. I was also disappointed at the assumption that I live with someone, or have someone I can ask to help me with the task, as the instructions advise against tackling the task alone. When friends come to visit I don't ask them to work. It's a good thing this is a type of seat, because after several hours spent filling it, I really needed to sit down! You gave some reasons why it's done this way, but I would rather have paid extra and had it pre-filled. You could offer this as an option.

Upon delivery, the box was left outside our 2nd floor flat. With a trail of polystyrene balls all the way through our block. The fact that this is self assembly is hidden in the features section of the product and I feel this should be highlighted more clearly on the page. The bag for our polystyrene balls was broken upon arrival and once we had put all the balls inside the beanbag, I don’t feel there is enough to fill it. So I don’t know how many had fallen out in transit, but I could count more than 100 on the trail up to our flat. I feel mislead when purchasing this. It’s a messy job and not clearly stated that it self assembly. I really hope our niece likes this and it’s worth the aggravation of putting together and apologising to our neighbours for the mess caused by its delivery. I would love to know how that bag of beans is supposed to fill the entire bean bag. It’s saggy. See pics.

While the product is well made...

While the product is well made, it is one big space inside and so the beans just spread out everywhere leaving you sitting on the floor and the sofa falling backwards. I was told by big Bertha that it appears to be fully filled when I asked about it. And the size is more appropriate for a child. I have now made this the most expensive dog bed in the world as I cannot sit on it.

Feels like mis-marketing

Don’t buy unless you are a masochist who loves cleaning and have a choking death wish for your 3 year old. You have to put the “beans” in the chair yourself. This is stated on the site - but buried in at the very very end of the description and just says “assembling required”. Not only do you have to put the beans in, they are made from polystyrene and come contained in a plastic bag. Whoever came up with this idea obviously didn’t pay attention in school physics - since any attempt to remove said beans from the plastic bag automatically charges the beans with so much static that they literally physically escape your hands as the static causes them to be repelled. This makes filling the chair (even after watching the instructional video) without the majority of the balls spilling everywhere next to impossible. I also bought the chair for 3 year olds plus - anyone with a small young child will likely know have that having tiny statically charged polystyrene balls floating around the floor in your house is probably the most dangerous health hazard for a 3 year old. Do not buy for a young child. Get a pre-filled one from Amazon instead.

I purchased the Albert children beanbag chair in ivory, I received it late as DPD decided they will deliver it to the wrong address the first time. Then when I did receive it, I received a faulty one as it has large pink stains on it. It’s meant to be a gift for someone and when I’ve called I’ve had no answer for 2 days. When I emailed in the morning as soon as I received a delivery I was given a response end of day, stating they wanted a photo. I had already sent them a photo of it within my initial email. This wasted 2 days as I had to send it again and I got a response saying they will exchange the fabric. Which means I have to now wait again god knows how long for the delivery of this fabric and then arrange a return of the dusty fabric. It was meant it be a gift that needs to be given asap. Their phone number evidently isn’t connected as I’ve called at this point over 40 times in the last 2 days. Their email responses have been lacking considering I’ve given all the evidence the first day and they take over 6 hours for an initial response. I’m just shocked.

It cost too much, was not aware you had to put polystyrene balls into the beanbag yourself as it does not mention this on original Posting about the product.....its flimsy, now I'm stuck with it, as not allowed to return. Its awful! Do not buy! False information and pictures provided. Not happy

Poor Choice of Delivery Partner

Appalling choice of delivery partner. I wouldn’t pay DPD in chocolate buttons. Would never buy from Big Bertha again while ever they use DPD. Also, not enough beans……the amount you put in should be a choice based on preference, not a cheap base amount. The bag itself is good! Generally disappointed.

Not what was advertised, will be calling soon to talk about this. £200 is excessive for what I have received quite disappointing. I suggest you change the image in your website. It’s a misrepresentation of the product

There are not enough beans to give the shape of the sofa that appears in the adverts. Within a day or two it's lost shape and looks like a saggy mess. The upside is the dogs love it.

Could be better

It would be so much better if the beanbag came ready stuffed. Doing it at home is such a faff and so many of the styrofoam beans spill out and it’s messy. I would prefer to buy from somewhere where it’s ready-stuffed professionally, so wouldn’t buy from here again or recommend.

Did not realize you had to fill your own bag with the beads supplied! What a mess with beads all over house. Should have been filled at warehouse not in customer's home.

I received this product and was not worth the money.

I received this product and was immediately disappointed with the presentation as the beanbag needs to be ‘assembled’. The polystyrene balls is in a separate bag to the casing, and despite best efforts, it is a very messy exercise as the filling goes everywhere. At this price, I would have expected the bean bag to come ready for use. The material of the casing was also quite poor and does not have the quality I would expect for >£100. I had then decided to return for a refund, but have received no correspondence after nearly 2 weeks. VERY disappointing!
