Liked that the site was able to determine automatically that I was in the USA and adjusted prices, shipping details, etc., for USA. Great prices. I also liked the ability to select Express Delivery to the USA for such a reasonable cost ($3 USD). Transaction was seamless, product was quickly readied for transit, and delivered within three days and one hour of order (ordered online 20231105 @ 1627 local time and was delivered to my door on 20231108 @ 1715 local time) - faster than many Amazon deliveries - and this was from across the pond, across the USA (Los Angeles, CA area), through customs and to my door in less than three days and one hour! Product was found to be exactly as ordered! With performance and prices like this (especially including the great Express Delivery price and speed), I will definitely be a repeat customer (this was my first purchase from Sole Trader Outlet) and will be one of the places I shop for my upcoming Christmas gift purchases! Still can't believe the shipment made it to me faster than an Amazon order I put in the same day on a different item!

I popped into the Ashford store and spotted a pair of Simon Carter Byrd 2 Chukka blue shoes which I really liked. They didn't have the shoes in stock but were able to order them to my home address which I did so. I left the store after purchasing the shoes and soon received an email with my invoice. However, the invoice presented a black version of the shoes so I popped back in to discuss with the staff member that the wrong shoes had been ordered. The staff member was apologetic and realised their mistake. I asked if this order could be amended and changed to the blue version which I originally purchased or get a refund and reorder the correct ones. However, I was then informed that they would not be able to carry out this request in store and that I needed to contact the web based team to correct the order or to obtain a refund, as it was a web based purchase. Even though I ordered in store. I left the store and came back as I was unsatisfied with the service presented. I was then informed by another member or the team that the shoes are actually listed black but look blue and that the invoice is correct and will be blue on arrival. I said that there are two colour options on the website being blue or black and they corrected me and said that the ones ordered will be blue on arrival. I received the shoes in the post and found the shoes to actually be black and then had to raise a return via the website. I chatted to the web chat which was really helpful and arranged a collection of the wrong shoes. However, I was unable to exchange the shoes for the blue version as they were now out of stock and had to then request a refund instead of an exchange. I found the service to be quite poor from a system point of view but also how the situation got treated. I believe a system should be put in place that when "web based" purchased has been carried out in store. A review of the order can be carried out by the customer, as they can double check the order being made to make sure the correct items are being ordered. If a purchase has been made within store, provide the option to be able to alter the order or give a refund to rectify the error, or at least show willing to correct an error rather than dismissing all errors onto the customer to resolve themselves by the website. Also, be honest to your customers. I feel that I was purposely misinformed about the colour of the shoes to remove me from the store as that was the easier option.

Poor Service & System Structure

Yet to receive my order (more than 2 weeks later)

Ordered new shoes before Christmas for a new years event but now well into January and I’ve yet to receive them (delivered to wrong address by DPD). DPD I insist I talk to the seller but sole trader outlet has no phone number you can call and the ‘live’ chat is not live. 2 days after I sent my ‘live chat’ message, I get a reply saying they need to give the courier company 6 more days to retrieve the parcel from whoever they mistakenly delivered it to - good luck with that! Looks like I’ll need to ask my credit card company to deal with sole trader to chase a refund.

Gift Card mix up

Friendly service. However, I went to pay with a Cheshire Oaks Gift Card and was told that they do not accept them, so I had to pay with my card. After checking with Guest Sevices, I was told that ALL shops accept gift cards. So I returned to Soletrader to get a refund and use my gift card to buy my shoes. The cashier originally mistook my gift card for a 10% discount card (which isn't accepted in all stores)

Wrong size delivered 3 times. Ordered a 7 1/2 they delivered 8 1/2. When they said no longer had 7 1/2 in stock I ordered a 7 they delivered a UK8. I returned it and asked for a UK7 and they sent another UK8. Ended up with a refund- so disappointed with overall experience

Awful experience – avoid

They sent the wrong item in the wrong size, which I then had to take to a shop to return despite it being entirely their error. Furthermore, they didn’t refund the postage costs, so I paid money for the pleasure of being shipped something completely useless that I had to use me own time and petrol to send back. I didn't bother trying to order again as I’d had enough by then. Would not recommend.

I paid an extra £6.00 for this specific date which was Christmas eve. And after waiting all day I received a text saying it is delayed and won't be delivered until Wednesday 27th December. I feel I should be receiving a refund for this 6.00 as I specifically arranged this delivery day as I needed it as a Christmas present fir Christmas day. Thanks for spoiling my Christmas

It was advertised that we could have 10% off on the McArthur Glen website at Sole trader. Inside the store we were told this didn't apply today! We asked whether some boots were leather, Jeep. My son wanted them. We were told they were leather, when in fact getting home we have checked on the website and they are not leather.

Poor packaging and returns

I ordered 5 pairs of shoes to try, and they all came in separate packages. As you have to pay to return unwanted items, this means that you have to pay per item, or try to fit them in one bag, which didn't work. The shoes and speed of delivery were good. I kept two pairs, but returning the 3 that didn't fit was not easy.

Used footwear sent

I received a pair of trainers, the box looked like it had been kicked around a car park and there was dirt on the sole. I thought I had ordered a new pair but clearly not. I sent a message on the website chat but have had no response. That was two weeks ago. This issue needs sorting as I feel I have robbed.

A pair of boots was marked as 50% off full retail price. When I went to buy them I was told it was labelled incorrectly and was only 30% off but I thought that was very misleading and I pointed out that they have to honour the label that’s on the boots but the man disagreed. I’m sure this is illegal.

Wrong opening times & broken boots

The shop's opening hours were incorrectly listed online and so ehrn I went to collect they were closed and at first refused to open even though it was only to pass me a delivery and the staff were there. Then the boots themselves broke as soon as I tried thrm on and will have to go back.

Returned trainers within a month of purchase. Refused refund. Given a voucher. It ran out after 12 months! You took my money. Manager refused to give her name! Noone taking responsibility in store. Absolute disgrace. Will never go again and always warn people away online and in person.

Quick delivery but returns are hardwork. Only QR code given to get returns info.... If no QR code reader, like me, email. Then you get a QR code to print off to take to post office..... I may buy again from them, but only if 100% sure the item will fit and no return needed.

No contact re complaint

My order arrived via DPD. They left it outside during storm Babet in the pouring rain and wind. The box inside the bag got wet and damaged. I opened a chat with Sole Trader who have never got back to me. Really annoyed and this is putting me off using them again

The items from this store cost me 28 CAD, and the duty fee was 23 CAD. I never had this problem with the other stores from UK, to pay more just to bring it, and they didn’t calculate it when you make the purchase. The cost was ridiculous

Order cancelled

Ordered boots that were a good price. I received an email for my order. My order was then refunded to my account days later but I never received any email to say they could not fulfil my order and were going to refund.

Poor service, I was the only person in the store at the time and I had to go and ask for assistance. Once I had the shoe the gentleman walked away before I could ask for another, I had to go and call him again.

I didn't receive my order. A few days after making it I was sent an email saying the order couldn't be fulfilled and that it would be refunded. The refund was quick but it was frustrating nevertheless
