After searching other companies backing tracks and was disappointed with them, i stumbled across Paris Music, and was very surprised at the full audio sound quality, and i have since bought quite a few of David's backing tracks and love them, as well as my professional musician friends who also love the sound quality. David Gainsford is also quick to assist anyone having any downloading problems like i had myself when i first became a member, he emailed me and walked me through the entire downloading process.

So I found Paris Music, because the biggest and most popular site for multi track backing tracks, didn’t have the songs I happened to be looking for. That site produces very high quality tracks and sells them for £1.99 each. So straight away the first negative is the cost. I paid £18 for a track that would usually cost me £1.99! Secondly there seems to be an expiry date. Expiry?! You charge THAT much and can’t even host the purchase forever? The tracks themselves I would give four stars. They are very high quality and yes, compared with this other site they are in WAV format and not MP3. However, there is no guide vocal provided. Previewing a track before you pay is also very limited as you can only play the full track. You are buying a multi stem backing track, but you cannot preview each instrument separately. The final negative is the delivery of your tracks after you purchase. You have to wait for an email with a link to your tracks. I waited over 30 minutes once! This may seem petty but when you’re used to your tracks immediately appearing in your list of purchased tracks, this is annoying and unnecessary. No doubt this site will continue to operate in this way, but I will only ever use them as a last resort. I’ve paid for well over 400 tracks on the other site, which would have cost me over £7000 on Paris Music, as opposed to less than £800.

Can get same quality elsewhere at almost 10% of the price!

Thank you for your review Dominic. I feel your comments really do need a little context. When Paris Music started (nearly 25 years ago) there were only a few backing track companies and most were supplying cheap sounding Midifiles. We were (and still are) a small, family run business with a small, but very talented group of musicians who produce backing tracks to the highest standard. We were the first to start supplying Multitracks at a time when stereo backing tracks were selling for £10.00 each. The other supplier you're talking about burst onto the scene with huge financial backing and created their amazing online multitrack player and to start with their prices were similar to Paris Music, but their tracks were generally poor. Over the years their quality has improved massively and they've waged an aggressive price war and seem intent on wiping out all the competition. There's no way smaller companies can compete and sooner or later (as with most small, family run businesses) we will be priced out of the market and probably have to shut down. Fortunately, we do have a very loyal customer base who still value superior sounding tracks and appreciate a more personal service. (I don't know any other backing track suppliers who still even have a phone line, never mind accepting orders over the phone) So, hopefully we'll continue to operate for a while yet. To reply to a couple of your other points: we usually can provide a Guide Lead Vocal with Multitracks, just drop us an email. Also, I'm afraid the server costs to host our entire Multitrack catalogue online are too high, and we use a download service to send a link for our Multitracks. The download link will expire in 3 months, but you order will permanently be on file and you only need email requesting a new download link should you ever need one. Many thanks for you custom.
