Very pleased with mower, ease of purchasing and speedy delivery by DPD. This mower was not the cheapest option but I read various reviews from different places and it came out on top. I hope it will prove as reliable as my last small electric mower (Flymo but the same model was no longer available anywhere. Time will tell. That is the problem with reviews isn't it? Performance of things like this and longevity can only be reviewed after say a year and NOT at the point of purchase!!!

Absolutely awful experience. My mower arrived with missing parts. I contacted them immediately via phone, was advised to email in, followed their instructions. They ignored emails, were difficult to get hold of on the phone, didn't take any of the action they said they were going to. After nearly a week of waiting for them to send the missing parts they still hadn't so I decided to return. Again no communication, didn't acknowledge the return, and didn't refund despite stating they would. Had to go through PayPal disputes to get my money back. Avoid these lot at all costs and go to literally any other supplier!

Terrible customer service: missing parts, no communication & no refund

Absolutely awful experience. My mower arrived with missing parts. I contacted them immediately via phone, was advised to email in, followed their instructions. They ignored emails, were difficult to get hold of on the phone, didn't take any of the action they said they were going to. After nearly a week of waiting for them to send the missing parts they still hadn't so I decided to return. Again no communication, didn't acknowledge the return, and didn't refund despite stating they would. Had to go through PayPal disputes to get my money back. Avoid these lot at all costs and go to literally any other supplier!

Terrible Customer Service

Ordered new PCB for a Countax - was faulty as confirmed by the manufacturer. Waited for a replacement - gave up in the end and bought one off eBay as the grass needed cutting. Sent back with a proof of delivery back to 'Steve H' as confirmed on an email - have I received a refund - hell no. Now don't answer their phones - having to now to take it up with PayPal. Things shouldn't be this difficult.

Nice website, imaginary products & tracking information

Placed an order online for a Mountfield SP185 on Sunday 28/05. It was a bank holiday Monday, so after speaking to them I was told it would be delivered Wednesday (despatched on Tuesday). Received an email on Tuesday it's been despatched but without a tracking number. Not a problem, I'll give it a few days. Called on Friday to check on the delivery which had not yet arrived, I asked for a tracking number - was told "It's not DPD we don't give out a tracking number. Today is day 4 and should be delivered by the end of today if it hasn't been delivered yet". Up until now they couldn't tell me who it was despatched with, when it was coming or any other standard information you get from anywhere else you order from. Called up on Monday 05/06, option 1 just had a busy tone and was not accepting calls. Tried this on & off throughout the day, always the same engaged tone and no-one available to talk. Called up again on Tuesday 06/06, finally got through to someone who said they can see from the tracking number it was attempted delivery 31/05, 01/06 and 02/06 and no-one was home to accept the delivery and it was now on the way back to this company. It's not true delivery was attempted, they could not tell me the times it was attempted - though someone was home all day on each day. The person on the phone said they will check with DX if it can be 'redelivered' or they would send out the item again, and will call me back Wednesday 07/06 to let me know. Called up yet again Thursday 08/06, was told they cannot find the order or the tracking number. Eventually found the order and cannot see any delivery attempts, can only see it's gone missing. They're going to call DX and start an investigation and will update me when they hear back - I asked when this would be, was told "Well it depends how long until they reply to my email after I've emailed them". I then asked for the tracking number so I could view the tracking information myself, as I didn't believe they'd actually despatched the item, and I was told they don't have tracking numbers they just 'click a link'. I explained this is a little odd since I regularly get tracking numbers from DX - and suddenly she magically found a tracking number. This tracking number does not exist according to DX that I've spoken to myself. I truly believe Cheltenham Mowers / Mowers Online have simply marked the order as despatched to capture the funds and have thought they'll deal with getting the item into stock and despatched another time. I will not order from them again and would like a full refund if my item I ordered cannot be delivered as described.

Ordered my mountfield sp53h from mowers direct after looking online and seeing the price I should have known better, too good to be true if I had read the reviews first no way would I have bought from this company. After one week I began to chase them up was told the courier was picking it up asked who the courier was and a tracking number the guy couldn't tell me the tracking number and will get onto them waited until following day read the reviews at which point I began to worry about my £400 luckily I used my credit card. When I rang again I asked him why I had not received the tracking number if the courier had it again was fobbed of by oh I will get onto them and get back to you within the hour waited two hours then rang again this time spoke to a female colleague who told me he was busy on the phone and that he would phone back I knew at this point there was no mower and I demanded my money back I was told to send an email to that effect. The email was short if I didn't receive my money back within 3 working days I would instruct the credit card company to do a Section 75 to recover the money. The email back was prompt your refund is being processed I received the money back within one working day and that is the reason why I actually gave 1 star

Ruined Christmas Surprise!

I purchased a leaf blower as a surprise for my other half's Christmas present, it wasn't cheap at just under £250. It arrived in its own branded box, my other half opened the door to the delivery guy and that was his Christmas surprise over with, as it was plastered all over the box exactly what it was. I contacted Mowers direct and all I got back was... "Well you didn't calaborate with us to say it was a gift!" Firstly why would I? I've never had any online purchase turn up in its original box, usually the bare minimum is that they come out in a bag, especially over winter in the damp and secondly, it's December, are you supposed to notify every single online purchase that you make that its a gift? Would I buy from these guys again, sadly not as their response to my email was very poor indeed.

Mind boggling and awful experience

A truly mind boggling and awful purchase experience. I ordered and paid for an item that never arrived. I waited for the item for over a week then contacted Online Mowers (Cheltenham Mowers Limited) who suggested the order had been delayed due to a system error but had been posted that day. Again nothing arrived. After 2 weeks (during which I sent numerous emails requesting the item, then a refund that Online Mowers completely ignored) I had to open a Paypal Money back claim to recover my costs. It felt like Chelternham Mowers Limited were not at all concerned that they had taken my money and that they chose not to reply to my requests for assistance with the missing item. I'll certainly never shop from them again and would advise others to avoid the company like the plague.

Inadequate and incompetent after sales service

Enquired about a spare part via e-mail on 27th April 2023, no reply. Asked again on 5th May. Company finally responded on 11th May and parts ordered that day. Half the number required arrived on 13th May although delivery notr stated whole order had been delivered. I pointed out that order had been for 3 pairs but only three individual items had been sent in spite of order acknowledgement stating that three pairs would be delivered. the discrepancy was pointed out and on 15th April the remaining three items were received. I had ordered parts from this company before, by telephone, and they arrived the following day. This delivery (for the same parts) which could only be ordered by e-mail took 20 days to deliver - a totally inefficient and incompetent service

Goodbye my £3.57

I ordered a part, some fuel hose on 28th May and despite regular contact with mowers-online the part still has not yet arrived! Allegedly it has now been sent three times, unfortunately I cannot believe this. However the royal mail might hold part of the blame as it does seem that morons delivering the post locally don't seem to be able to read properly! Mowers-online should listen to their customers and act immediately, especially when they have already paid for an item and check their recorded deliveries.

Unprofessional and disgraceful

Had to chase order for a second time to be eventually told it was out for delivery. No email, call or text to let me know. Managed to get a family member to rush home for the delivery but nothing arrived. Following day I called to find out the product was delivered but to a different house number in a completely different street. I asked for a refund and I'm still waiting 7 days later! What a joke, disgraceful service!

Very poor communication

Things I didn’t like: 1. Very poor communication. 2. No emails regarding dispatch or delivery 3. No response to emails 4. I had to use PayPal resolution for a refund. 5. I basically had to sort Cobra collecting my mower myself after Mowers Online couldn’t give me a collection date. Things I liked: 1.! When you do speak to staff they were pleasant and friendly. 2. Good website with lots of products and good prices. I ordered a Cobra mower but it turned out to be faulty. It was collected on the first of Sept & returned to Cobra, I asked Mowers Online about a collection date and they couldn’t provide it so I contacted Cobra Direct and they arranged collection for the next day, I had to contact Cobra direct to get info & get PayPal resolution to issue the refund after. I didn’t order a totally different mower from them when this one turned out to be faulty but I think I’ll have seconds thoughts next time simply due to the absolutely poor communication which is a shame.

The delivery was awful, basically I spent a whole day from morning till afternoon waiting for the two hourly update on delivery which never arrived. The next day I received an update and delivery was made at eleven am. The mower was on a horrific pallet which the driver was unable to help me with. It took over an hour to cut away the pallet to be able to manoeuvre the mower onto the ground. The mower came with an instruction manual but sadly the whole experience has put a dampener onto what should have been an exciting event especially as it’s twenty years since it’s predecessor was delivered and been in use. On hindsight I should have chosen white glove delivery which I feel would have been more appropriate for my circumstances.

Hope you’re not in a rush!

Eventually placed an order via my computer for 2 items after many failed attempts using my mobile, not off to a good start. Order placed and the following day a parcel arrived, fantastic all is forgiven or so I thought! Opened the parcel and only 1 item received with no mention on the paper work where the other item was. Emailed and two days later no reply so I called. On asking where my part was I was told it’s being sent direct from manufacturer. Basically nearly two weeks later another email that wasn’t replied to, two more phone calls and being told that they would send me emails to keep me posted, which never happened - still no part.

These people need sharpen their act up or they are going to suffer by their own inaction.

I have written on 2 separate occasions asking for a delivery date from these people and to date I have had no response from them. My order was submitted and paid for 10 days ago and I would like to think that they would have had the courtesy and good business manners to keep their customers appraised of the progress of their order. This purchase is not a small one and you would like to think that as a small family business these people would be going all out to provide great customer service - customers are at the heart of all businesses and as you sow; so shall you reap. You can and should do much better.

Purchased a mower via website. When the mower was delivered there was various parts missing & the mower was damaged. Waste of time phoning , no-one answers, no facility to leave a message. Phoned 20 + times over a week, finally phone was answered & I was promised that my email had been passed to the Parts Department & they would send out the missing items asap- that was 4 weeks ago- guess what they’ve not turned up. Shocking company & appalling customer service - my advice is do not buy from them.

item arrived with faulty battery after repeated calls with no answer and multiple emails someone eventually replied and asked for photo of faulty battery . this was sent the same day and now nothing no replacement no further contact and item is unusable will now have to spend hours requesting collection. also i received no notification of despatch or any tracking information just item dumped at address shocking experience first and last time i use these clowns

Poor service

I've already sent in a response to a previous request from you for feedback. I was sent the wrong mower blade and, in spite of emailing a week ago to inform of the error, I have not yet even received an acknowledgement of the email, never mind a resolution. I have had to look elsewhere for the correct blade and appear to have to write off the cost of this. This is very unsatisfactory and I will continue give negative feedback should my view be sought again

Delivery was quick - I’ll give you that, but I’ve had nothing but problems with the mower since I took delivery. Blade won’t engage and engine has problems restarting. Your customer service line is non existent! Every time I’ve tried to phone the line cuts off! yet your website states you’re there to help Monday- Friday, 8.30-5.30pm. I am in contact with you via email but could really do with speaking to someone who can help me fix my problem

I would strongly recommend avoiding this company. The highly discounted item I purchased had an inherent manufacturing fault. The after sales service was truly appalling and obfuscating. Months of unanswered calls, e mails and recorded delivery letters. On the rare occasions calls were answered staff attirude varied from indifference to bare faced lies. I had to resort to obtaining legal advice in order to obtain a refund. Best go elsewhere.

The product in question (a garden shredder) was heavily discounted because the manufacturer decided to discontinue the design after many years in production. It does not have an inherent fault as you suggest. However, the machine you purchased does appear to have an issue and we worked with you to try and resolve the problem. Missing items and no communication

Terrible company. Quick to respond to emails pre sale. However once goods are purchased no communication whatsoever. No dispatch confirmation to advise of delivery dates. When items didn't arrive I sent 3 separate emails, none of which received a reply. Items still missing. Their terms and conditions state that they will keep you informed of any delays - this doesn't happen. Pay a little more and use a better company, avoid this one at all costs.
