I have used Playwell off and on for more years than I want to admit to.
They have always been my go too for anything martial arts related.
From just the quality of clothes to personal protection equipment and weapons.
I have always found that the quality and service and indeed quick despatch of orders, have never dropped nor changed over decades of use.
Website is great to navigate and also if I'm ever in need of advice, the person on the other end of the phone are the fountain of knowledge that's required.
Keep it up.
I still have not received the order despite paying for next day delivery. I understand that delivery is contracted to DX but that is your business choice and they are falling far short of an acceptable service level. It is particularly irritating for the last two mornings to be told, we have your item and will deliver today. A few hours later the messages changes to there is a delay. we will deliver soon.
I ordered items advertised on the website. I was sent emails to confirm the order and to say the items had been dispatched including a consignment number with DHL. I expected delivery in 2-3 days. I didn't receive the items. I went to the DHL website to find the parcel using the consignment number and it said they hadn't been able to collect it from the seller.
I messaged Playwell and they said they were due to phone me to say the items were out of stock and did I want to wait 70 days or have a refund?! I might have given two stars but they didn't even apologise. I won't be using them again...

You aren't listening to accredited instructors ....
Whilst the equipment you sell may be ok to use for non traditional martial artists (baton twirling will be ok).
To describe certain objects as Jo staff, or Bokken. And then supplying equipment that won't be allowed into any renowned dojo. But arguing with the customer. Who is also a time served. And licensed instructor is awful customer service.
My not for profit clubs. Mostly teaching children. Will be losing over £30 in postage to. And from yourselves. Because my word is not good enough.
I won't be back. And I'll be letting my students. And everyone else I come into contact with know that Playwell aren't good to deal with...

Disappointing - not as described
Premium striped bamboo staff was not remotely striped - despite this being the clear visual appeal highlighted by the description of the premium product. Disappointing as this was a gift.

The sword themselves are good
The sword themselves are of good make and are reasonably priced!
I have purchased 4 swords in total (plastic) and 3 of them had a warp.
With it being £18.99 delivery charge i didnt expect it to come wrapped only in bubble wrap.
Not even in a box to try and prevent a warp.
When I emailed about the wrap I was told to stand on the sword to bend it back into shape. Really?

DX were appalling.
Good points: you have spears for sale and you sent it with a carrying case which I did not expect.
Bad points: I paid extra for 24hr working day delivery. It was 2 days late and was then left on my front doorstep where anyone could have taken it.
I asked for support and none was given.
It has rattling balls in it. If I'd known that I would have thought twice about getting it.

I haven't received anything for about the order. I know DX handles delivery, but that’s your choice and they’re not doing a good job. It's frustrating to be told for two mornings in a row that my item will be delivered today, only to have the message change to say there’s a delay. This feels like a scam. Repetition is key in martial arts, and Playwell seems to be failing at it.

Quick delivery. But items not quite as described (for example, I ordered an oak wooden tonfa and white oak bo. But the tonfa that came are beech and I'm not sure what wood the bo is, but doesn't feel like oak). Not worth changing them, but I really expected to get the type of wood I ordered.
Otherwise a good experience, website clear. No other issues.

48 hour dx delivery, it's now a week later and still nothing has been delivered. Enso martial arts in Bristol can get a 7ft kung fu staff to me in (in Scotland) 2 days for just £12.99.
A jō is half that size nearly, why can a small business give better service than yourselves? I'd look at changing from using dx if I were you.

Hi Apologies for this, as DX is the only courier who takes long length packages nowadays, many couriers have stopped taking long length items, or they charge a very high amount for postage, not sure what the delay has been this time round as yes delivery times are normally 1 - 2 working days via DX but as i can see from the tracking a redelivery has been scheduled, please do get in touch with us if delivery is still not made and we can look in to it further with DX
PS Enso martial arts are our customers, they buy there gear from us :)

Ordered an item and had a despatched email soon after the order, item has not arrived after 4 days and went to check delivery status and it wants an account set up. Delivery updates should be straight forward emails.
Will give the order another couple of days and then chase up in earnest begins.
