I was looking 2 x mother and child lights for my sunroom and found Lamp and Light site on the net. 75% reviews were 5 star but a number were very poor and on the face of things very disconcerting. However as I read through them I was amazed at how petty most were, ‘ I didn’t know they were not an English based company’, ‘my package was damaged in transit’, ‘I had difficulty fitting the electrical adapter’ etc. I was astounded by how childish these reviews were. Now don’t get me wrong, bad service and/or product will get me on top of my soap box shouting it to everyone. But then again credit where credit is due. I ordered my 2 lamps and had them within 3 days. They arrived in excellent condition and I had them erected in about 10 minutes each. No real issues for anyone with more than 2 brain cells. The light and effect they give is absolutely excellent. My bonus was I got them in their sale. I am very satisfied and would have no issues ordering from them again, or recommending them to family and friends.

We received a text that our order was left "in a safe place with a card" describing where to find it. However, when we returned home, there was no package, nor card left through our mail slot. We live on a pedestrian lane with no stoop, steps or yard. There's no sidewalk. It's just the street and our door. If a package was left in front of our door, that's not safe at all. Anyone could pick it up and take it. There was no card or message saying where the package had been left. Only a day later did someone on the street come to our door and say they noticed our package had been sitting outside unattended and they took it to their house for safe keeping. This isn't acceptable at all. The base of the lamp is scuffed, the globe is dirty and has glass bubbles in it. It's too expensive for a delicate product like that to be in that condition, left unattended, and no communication as to where it is. Please give us an explanation of what we can do to get a better quality product and how to rectify our experience with this order. My best-

The light arrived with a European two-pin plug which, having done a bit of research, it seems does not conform to the UK electrical safety standards. So, I contacted customer services who offered to supply an adapter (again this seems not to conform) which is not what I wanted so I asked to activate their 'free returns policy. After many calls and emails, it took around two weeks for some returns labels to arrive and a phone number which I had to arrange the return. There is then the promise of a full refund within 14 days once the items had been received at the returns address (14 DAYS, it didn't take them 14 days to take the money from me when I bought the product) this turned out to be 20 days again after numerous emails. All in all, this has been a very poor experience for me and I would NOT recommend dealing with the company!

I purchased four wall lights which arrived in what looked to be thin polythene food bags, in a large box (badly damaged) with no other protective packaging. This is completely unacceptable especially considering they had travelled to the UK from the continent. Amazingly there were only a couple of scratches on them. Worse than that though was that each light was out of line, either bent to one side or lower/higher than the others. There was no way I could put these on a wall a few feet away from each other and it not be noticeable. Lamp and Light needs to get its house in order as regards quality and packing. The only positive is that I could return the order for free although arranging the return via UPS was a nightmare!

A great lamp but it took quite a while to assembly due to the fact it was very heavy and the diagram was not clear. Our main complaint was that the lamp was delivered (by Yodel) in two parcels but only one tracking number was given for the base. The second parcel, which was the main body of the lamp, had a tracking reference which was not updated online therefore we thought the lamp had got lost. It did arrive though (whilst we were out) despite the fact that the tracking said it was still at the depot!

The lamp was good but the package was incorrectly labelled without the name that was specified on the order; the order email that I had confirmed it was addressed to my wife, but instead the package arrived addressed to me, which meant that the package was then incorrectly opened by my other family members, ruining the surprise that was the present (the lamp) itself. Why bother asking me for a name in the delivery section if you’re not going to use the details I enter?

We’ve ordered some lights. We’ve not had any update about when they’ll arrive. We’ve tried calling the company but the telephone number instructs that ‘due to high volumes they’re not taking phone calls’, and we’ve emailed and not had any reply. We ordered our lights 8 days ago and have no clue if and when they’ll arrive! We ordered a dozen or so lights from various companies last week and they’ve all arrived barr this order!

Arrived promptly and well packaged. Base was nice and heavy. However, after HOURS of trying, I could not put the three sections together. I don't think it would have helped to have a second person. The screw end and screw receiver just did not fit each other. However, the returns process was straightforward, paid for by the company, and I have been refunded in full. Just a big waste of my time and disappointing.

The lamps look lovely, we haven’t had them fitted yet, we need an electrician. The amount of packaging was just right. Sadly I was very unimpressed by UPS delivery. I had to go away unexpectedly on the day of delivery and my husband, a NHS worker,was at work and unable to take the day off. The parcel was left at my door, in full view of anyone passing. Luckily a n’bour took it in before it got wet

Lamp was incorrectly assembled and i sent Photo graphs showing that ia glass panel had not been assembled. When taking out of packaging glass panel broke. A significant time had elapsed from order to opening to fit ( 21 Months ). Lampandlight offered me 10 % discount off a new lamp or a replace gglass at almost 1 / 3 of the price for a complte amp and wait until sept . Not tood customer service

More information needed about type and size of the electrical parts of this lamp. Beautiful shade but fittings not compatible and not is it possible to adapt the fittings as they are snapped not screwed together. Some work now needed to adapt shade to existing fitting which I don’t expect to do when paying so much for a product. Lots more information and measurements would have avoided this.

Not so much the product at fault, but the fact I ordered off a uk web site and receive a lamp for use in Europe, with an adaptor plug to make it usable. The problem is I can't remotely pull push or whatever make the 2 pin plug fit inside the adapter. I live in the uk and expect my products to be fit for purpose when I receive it not have to start to making amendments. Won't buy again on line

Atrocious lack of packing despite coming from the continent. Thrown in a large box wrapped in thin food bags! Box was damaged and crushed at one end. The quality of the lights was appalling. Every single one was different to the next (see pics) I know they weren’t expensive but really????? Returning via UPS was a nightmare too but the refund was at least prompt. Will not shop here again.

I ordered an Industrial style floor lamp from this company as I liked the style and good news it was reduced. Delivery was prompt but the lamp had 2 places of damage. A disinterested girl asked for picture evidence to be emailed for a refund or replacement. I do not expect a damaged item to be sent to me. Where was quality control? Why can no-one get things right 1st time these days.

I wouldn’t even choose one star. I ordered spotlights over 2 week ago that should have been with me within 3 days. They have been returned to the sender by UPS due to not receiving information required for border clearance. I did contact them many times and they assured me they had been in contact with UPS, obviously not true. So no lights and cost me more to turn the electrician away.

Grey Drum 30 ceiling fitting. Drum shade provided does not allow safe and correct fitting of the glass diffuser. I queried this and a replacement was sent, however this also had the wrong drum shade. The seller contacted the manufacturer to rectify issue, however there was no reply and the seller had to provide a refund. The whole process took over 2 weeks, very poor customer service.

The lamp itself is stunning. Looks good & the light is excellent. However I wasn’t aware that the plug is European & not U.K. . The ‘adaptor’ they sent doesn’t fit so I’ve has used my own EU to U.K. adaptor & it’s not as stable as I would like, meaning any movement turns the light off. They should make it clear that the product is for the EU market & doesn’t not come with U.K. plug.

Still not received my item due to paperwork not being completed by lampandlight and I would still be waiting as I had to chase UPS and then I inform lampandlight why my order was stuck. Late delivery of my order means I have let my customers down and puts me in a bad light. My overall experience therefore is very poor. Product is good enough, when I get it, but the service is poor.

The Light of the Fan/light fitting was not working on switching on and after contacting customer service was asked to send a video of a light not working!!! Replied to the email requesting a replacement and have still not received a response andI have just realised that the remote does not have a facility for dimming the light so the item is not even as described and £20 cheaper

Chappie pair of lights were very poor quality Arrived looking different colours - one black, one dark grey Both had very stiff cheap swivel joints Both were marked and scratched and had patchy areas where they d been unevenly sprayed Arrived without the euro to UK adapters which I didn’t know they d need Customer service were great and agreed to refund, I am awaiting refund
