I was looking 2 x mother and child lights for my sunroom and found Lamp and Light site on the net. 75% reviews were 5 star but a number were very poor and on the face of things very disconcerting. However as I read through them I was amazed at how petty most were, ‘ I didn’t know they were not an English based company’, ‘my package was damaged in transit’, ‘I had difficulty fitting the electrical adapter’ etc. I was astounded by how childish these reviews were. Now don’t get me wrong, bad service and/or product will get me on top of my soap box shouting it to everyone. But then again credit where credit is due. I ordered my 2 lamps and had them within 3 days. They arrived in excellent condition and I had them erected in about 10 minutes each. No real issues for anyone with more than 2 brain cells. The light and effect they give is absolutely excellent. My bonus was I got them in their sale. I am very satisfied and would have no issues ordering from them again, or recommending them to family and friends.

We received a text that our order was left "in a safe place with a card" describing where to find it. However, when we returned home, there was no package, nor card left through our mail slot. We live on a pedestrian lane with no stoop, steps or yard. There's no sidewalk. It's just the street and our door. If a package was left in front of our door, that's not safe at all. Anyone could pick it up and take it. There was no card or message saying where the package had been left. Only a day later did someone on the street come to our door and say they noticed our package had been sitting outside unattended and they took it to their house for safe keeping. This isn't acceptable at all. The base of the lamp is scuffed, the globe is dirty and has glass bubbles in it. It's too expensive for a delicate product like that to be in that condition, left unattended, and no communication as to where it is. Please give us an explanation of what we can do to get a better quality product and how to rectify our experience with this order. My best-

Your website looks as if it is a UK company until you go to a purchase which was not a good experience. The courier company was not expected to be Yodel but they have recently improved a lot. The address page on the purchase process is not fit for purpose as it does not follow UK addressing protocols. The name or number box does not permit two words like my address. The final address description swapped the name of the house with the street. First was street name and house name second. Luckily Yodel found us, even though have had problems with their deliveries in the past. The product is great and the price was right so just have to think about using this company again unless they get the website fixed. Good communications, except a link which took me to a Dutch webpage which I don't speak unfortunately.

I love the aesthetics of the lamp - simple in design and colour (black was what I choose) and the design itself does not take up much space. The turn on button is a floor push button which I like but I found the cord to be a bit too long so be sure to tie back the access cord to prevent accident. The order also came with a light bulb which is super bright which is good if you do not look at it directly and really great for reading. However assembling it was not easy and I almost gave up on it but eventually got it sorted. I was surprised as to how heavy the base of the lamp was so much so I did not bother sticking the final bit. See attached photos. I did not take a photo for the base because cannot be bothered moving the shelve that is place before the stand.

A great lamp but it took quite a while to assembly due to the fact it was very heavy and the diagram was not clear. Our main complaint was that the lamp was delivered (by Yodel) in two parcels but only one tracking number was given for the base. The second parcel, which was the main body of the lamp, had a tracking reference which was not updated online therefore we thought the lamp had got lost. It did arrive though (whilst we were out) despite the fact that the tracking said it was still at the depot!

The lamp was good but the package was incorrectly labelled without the name that was specified on the order; the order email that I had confirmed it was addressed to my wife, but instead the package arrived addressed to me, which meant that the package was then incorrectly opened by my other family members, ruining the surprise that was the present (the lamp) itself. Why bother asking me for a name in the delivery section if you’re not going to use the details I enter?

I was advised the order would be dispatched same day if order placed by 9pm. My order was placed at 6pm 30.03.2022 and did not get dispatched until the following afternoon 31.03.2022. Then not received at Yodel until 04.03.2022 and ultimately delivered 05.03.2022. Rather frustrating as we were on a tight deadline and communication was poor. Yodel confirmed delivery on the porch but not photo to confirm. Thankfully our builder confirm they received a parcel.

The lamps look lovely, we haven’t had them fitted yet, we need an electrician. The amount of packaging was just right. Sadly I was very unimpressed by UPS delivery. I had to go away unexpectedly on the day of delivery and my husband, a NHS worker,was at work and unable to take the day off. The parcel was left at my door, in full view of anyone passing. Luckily a n’bour took it in before it got wet

The lamp itself is stunning. Looks good & the light is excellent. However I wasn’t aware that the plug is European & not U.K. . The ‘adaptor’ they sent doesn’t fit so I’ve has used my own EU to U.K. adaptor & it’s not as stable as I would like, meaning any movement turns the light off. They should make it clear that the product is for the EU market & doesn’t not come with U.K. plug.

lampandlight.co.uk? Beware this shop is not in the uk but in the Netherlands -came with a two pin plug & adapter. The lamp I ordered was half price so I thought wow it must be quite nice - no - it was cheap looking - would not want to even pay the half price. The returns are free but had to wait for the return label email due to a gliche in the system they said

Delivery was quick and the ordering process was easy. However my product arrived slightly damaged. The box that the bulb came in was dented and torn, luckily the bulb was fine. But the lamp itself just doesn’t look good. I would expect a slightly rustic feel so I didn’t expect the surface to be completely smooth, but there are clear signs of damage on the lamp.

It started off well when I got a message from UPS to say they'd created a label but then heard no more. I emailed lamp and light but heard nothing so I phoned. Another package was sent out quickly but Yodel failed to deliver to the right address for 5 days before they delivered it to my neighbour instead, so it was a long time before I received my order.

Received our lamps in which looks wise are nice but the larger of the two came broken. One of the bulb housings was hanging loose the bolt inside had slipped and it had yanked the blue wire out of the component itself. We had to do some surgery and reposition the wire back in it’s socket. A bit frustrating to say the least.

Ordered a floor lamp. Arrived with European plug no good in UK. Phoned and received good service and plug arrived within 3 days. BUT... The plug didnt fit so I was backwards and forwards to local shop. In the end spent £5 on European Adaptor. Not much I know but if this had been bought as a present it wouldn't look good

I would love to give this lamp 5 as I love the style. BUT! the plug that comes with the lamp is one to fit in Europe, they do send an adaptor but it does not fit!! Absolutely impossible for it to stay on and keeps popping off as it’s too small, but £35 I would expect the lamp to have a proper plug for me to use in the UK

The 2 lights and 4 bulbs were very poorly packed and as a consequence the box arrived badly damaged. The 2 lights appear to be ok but will only know for sure when they are installed. One of the bulbs was damaged and I reported this by telephone and email and they agreed to to refund this item.

Lamp supplied with eu to uk converter plug- so bulkier than expected. Dimmer switches very stiff. Assembly instuctions minimal- just a picture. The emailed instuctions matched the one provided- not a more detailed one that I expected. Lost a grub screw down the tube during assembly.

I thought it would be already built but didnt take long. The lampshade had to be put together and does not quite meet together. It is a metal round frame and you need to wrap shade round it. When i sit on sofa the bulb can be seen and creates a glare

The product needs assembly of the glass which is not ideal. Only half the clips that hold the glass in place are provided and these are screwed into soft aluminium metal. It would be much better if the glass was pre-fitted and was properly fitted.

The instructions in the lamp were not at all easy to follow - just one diagram. No alum key was provided, which was required to attach the lamp head - even though a spanner was provided for the base fixing. Delivery was excellent.

The lamp is not as bright as we had hoped. However the instruction sheet for assembly is rather inadequate and could do with written instructions alongside the picture. I have not used customer service so cannot rate it.
