From order to delivery of the MeacoDry Arete One 10L dehumidifier was less than 24 hours - fantastic. I was particularly pleased that there was no delivery charge. The unit looks good, is very quiet and easy to use, and collected impressive amounts of water in our large cold rooms during recent dank weather. We appreciated the helpful booklet - so many manufacturers these days just refer you to websites for instructions. Not so with Meaco. Another great feature is the ease of use of the company's website, where I registered the product to confirm our warranty. My final positive comment about the website relates to the background and values of this UK company. The feature "Our Story" details this, and allows you to understand why Meaco has won so many awards for its products. Why go to a distributor when you can buy direct with such a quality of service?

I purchased 2 rather expensive dehumidifiers for our home use, they are rather heavy to lift and move about because the caster wheel feet don’t come with the product and you have to purchase them separately at another expense to me , the cost being £49.98 for 2 sets for the 2 dehumidifiers I’d purchased, I think I’m being rather generous giving 3 stars when realistically 1 star would have also be to higher score, shall we say the stars are for the product and not the fact that your company sponged another £49.98 for something that should come with the product complete, I’m guessing that i wont be the only person to mention this in a review, do the right thing and refund the cost of the casters, regards Len Aaron

HEPA filters are essential for users who wish to utilise their 2 in 1 dehumidifier, best utilised in springtime when pollen and other airborne allergens begin to make an appearance. Purifying the air is great for those with allergies such as hay fever and other respiratory conditions such as asthma. By capturing 99.75% of particles as small as 0.3 micrometres (μm), a HEPA filter can remove mould spores, pollen, dust, pet dander, dust mites and more from the air helping to reduce symptoms caused by allergies. We hope this provides a better understanding of the use of HEPA filters in a dehumidifier.

Not impressed

The unit is supposed to be an air purifier and dehumidifier. It works well as a dehumidifier but didn’t even come with an air filter, so how does it purify the air! Courier was useless. Came on a different day and left the unit, in retail packaging, on my front door step in plain view of close passing people/traffic. This was both a theft risk and also advertised to everyone that the house was unoccupied. I have 5 different neighbours all within 15 secs walk…

Horrendous noise when switched on.

Dehumidifier left to sit for 8 hours. Switched on and horrendous noise. Measured it at 71db. Hopefully it is a faulty unit and Meaco will replace. Called them the next day to inform of issue. Still waiting for a call back from Their technical dept. It’s obviously faulty and should be replaced immediately. If I don’t hear soon I will lodge dispute with PayPal. Otherwise it’s a promising item if it works as others say.

The product was highly rated BUT…..

The product that I wanted was highly rated. However they gladly took payment but didn’t fulfill the order as specified, on contact with “customer service” there was no apology, no explanation or date as to when they would supply the dehumidifier I had paid for. The attitude was appalling so I requested a refund, I was then told it would take time for them to process? Possibly up to 10 days 2 weeks, I instigated a refund through PayPal, so got my money back but then received an email apologising for a delay in dispatching! One half doesn’t know what the other is doing. Definitely Not a Professional Service

They sold me a dehumidifier which is not fit for purpose as it will not work properly in a garage which has air brick venting. It keeping going when it should cut out +/-3% of 55%. They will not give me a refund but keep asking me to put the unit in another room which is sealed. No point as if it works in my house where there is not damp I would not need the unit. They say on their website not to seal air vents in a garage as it would cause condensation yet they keep emailing saying to seal it up for the unit to work properly. Would never buy from them again.

The wheel holder broke off

One of the wheel holders on my dehumidifier broke off and the wheel fell off. The holders are made out of thin plastic which is not good enough to support the weight of a heavy machine such as Meaco 25L dehumidifier. Meaco's response was that was an accidental damage which was not true. They sent me an email asking me to take some more pictures and maybe they said we'll ask you to send the dehumidifier to us for an inspection. I just gave up. My dehumidifier is under warranty.

Thank you for your review. We are very sorry to hear you had an issue with your dehumidifier purchased from John Lewis in January 2022. We have not come across this situation before, and have sold thousands of these machines, none of which have had this issue. A member of our Customer Service Team was in contact with you regarding this, however we unfortunately did not hear back from you. Anther email was then sent to you and your unit was collected under warranty. Our engineers advised that it was unfortunately unrepairable, and due to this, you were provided with a replacement dehumidifier. We can only offer our apologies for any inconvenience that might have been caused.

Website states a free cover with every 1056 fan. What it does not say is this does not include the 1056p. I have contacted them to ask for a 1056 bag so that the fan will be protected from dust when not in use as the 1056 and 1056p have the same body dimensions. They will not send one. The fan was cheaper elsewhere I only purchased direct because of the offer of the free storage bag. Customer service is poor.

These units do not come with storage bags as there are none available for this model. It is noted on the website and each product page which fans have the free storage bags, and unfortunately the 1056P Pedestal fan is not one of these fans. We can only offer our apologies for any confusion that might have been caused.

19/12/23 update to review of 17/12/23 The response from Meaco was as expected. Not sure what I have refused or what has been offered to me!! The email from Rosemary certainly didn't offer anything. I would like a refund for this brand new faulty product, which hasn't worked from the day we received it on 1st November and has already been "repaired" by you once; the warranty is worthless!

Non existent customer service

Delivery driver did not attempt delivery and dropped the parcel off 25miles away. Multiple emails and phone call have not been responded too within a week. Very disappointed in Meaco customer service.

Fan arrived damaged and company told me to superglue it!

Ordered a fan which arrived damaged, reported it immediately and had to wait a few days for a response, their response was to superglue it! How it got through quality control is beyond me as the damaged part was incredibly loose.Tried to arrange an exchange with the collection of the damaged fan to happen on the same day as a new fan but a no from Meaco. The measly 10 refund will cover the glue.

The option of gluing the disc back on some customers have opted to do and we provide a refund for those that prefer this option. But the choice is always the customers, we will do either. Vague and lacking proactivity

Ordered and paid for next day delivery. No delivery or despatch. Chased and given vague mcguffin of ‘data error’. Later got their generic email blather with yet no expectation of delivery beyond ‘as soon as possible’ and thanking me for my patience. I have no patience with incompetence. Demanded refund. Bless you paypal.

We still haven’t received the dehumidifier ordered a week ago next day delivery and ringing both DPD and Meaco hasn’t helped. I don’t know where DPD delivered it and they don’t seem clear either. Wishing I had ordered elsewhere as we have black mould appearing and need one asap.

Poor response to delivery & no price match to then drop their price - farcical

Poor response to delivery, but would not help when the order got mis-delivered. Also wouldn't price match for £20 - but then I bought from a reseller for £20 less - and subsequently saw them drop their price to the same! What a farce.
