Don't let the "VSOP" designation fool you into thinking this is a sub-par cognac. In my humble opinion it sits on the palate more smoothly than most big brand XO's I've tried and has far more character than the price tag would suggest.
I suspect a lot of this has to do with the fact that it isn't a big-brand product (see the tasting notes on the website) and so has been prepared with a little more care than would be normal.
I don't know and, frankly, I don't care. It's my favourite cognac and that's all I can say at my level of (in)expert knowledge.
I recommend it wholeheartedly.

I ordered a single bottle of 1971 Bordeaux 5eme cru on March 5th to ensure delivery on 25th March for a special 50th birthday present. It is now March 30th and it still has not been delivered. The recipient has been promised it for tomorrow but you only have one 50th birthday and that occasion has been diminished.

We are very sorry, the carriage people seem to have lost the product, we sent the new parcel and is now delivered

Don't let the "VSOP" designation fool you into thinking this is a sub-par cognac. In my humble opinion it sits on the palate more smoothly than most big brand XO's I've tried and has far more character than the price tag would suggest.

Very impressive delivery. Arrived next day. Product looks very good although it’s not been given to the recipient yet. Sure my husband will be delighted with it though. It’s a 30th wedding anniversary gift.

I bought a box of two Special Riojas for my brother in law's birthday. He loved them, and said how nicely they were packaged. Impressive service too.
