I had an, as yet, unresolved issue re customs charges with Clove. It has not been satisfactorally resolved for me and has left me reluctant to buy anything again online above a customs cut off point.
The problem is that National Customs wont deal with any complaint. They must be resolved with the seller.

This customer resides within an EU country. They purchased a product from our UK website, and we sent it to them promptly. Upon entry to their country, the customer incurred import duty which they are disputing. They believe we owe them a refund as they paid duty on the order, which is incorrect. I am disappointed with some feedback from my friends whom I recommend the website. Their order is cancelled 3-4 days after payment is made and shown lack of response when sends email for queries
to ask reason.
I noticed that the product availability on Web page is not accurately updated and some times Clove team accept the payment although there is no stock of product and later they cancelled it
